Insurance & Coverage
We Accept OHIP, IFHP & WSIB
Parkside Family Health serves all patients — including newcomers and refugees covered under IFHP, and workers with WSIB workplace injury claims.
OHIP
Ontario Health Insurance Plan — standard coverage for Ontario residents.
IFHP — Interim Federal Health Program
We welcome refugee claimants, government-assisted and privately sponsored refugees covered under Canada's federal IFHP program (administered by Medavie Blue Cross).
WSIB — Workplace Safety & Insurance Board
We treat patients with workplace injuries and occupational illnesses covered under Ontario's WSIB program. No referral needed — bring your WSIB claim number.
Walk-In — No Health Card Required
IFHP patients may visit as walk-ins — no prior registration or referral needed. Bring your IFHP coverage documents.
Newcomers & Refugees Welcome
Are you a refugee claimant or newcomer to Canada?
If you hold IFHP (Interim Federal Health Program) coverage issued by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), you may walk in without an appointment. We will bill Medavie Blue Cross directly — no out-of-pocket cost for covered services.

Clinic Policies
Making the Most of Your Visit
We don't strictly limit visits to one concern. Patients sometimes lead with a smaller issue and only raise what's really on their mind once the conversation is underway — we'd always rather hear it than have it go unsaid. If you have a lot to cover, mentioning it when you book helps us make sure there's enough time, and if something surfaces that genuinely needs more dedicated attention than we have that day, we may ask you to come back for a proper follow-up visit.
Prescription Policy
We follow all College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario guidelines for safe, evidence-based prescribing. We do not prescribe narcotics or controlled substances outside the scope of primary care. Prescription refills are best discussed during a scheduled visit.

We are committed to keeping our clinic a safe and welcoming place for every patient and team member. We ask that all interactions remain respectful and kind — this allows us to focus entirely on your care.
Missed Appointments
A $50 fee applies to missed appointments. To avoid this charge, please cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours in advance. Your slot can then be offered to another patient who needs it.
